Small sunset studies, both on location and in the studio, have been a fun little freeing exercise for me lately. I’m not sure the paintings can ever do justice to the majesty of the live creations, each with its own unique set of shapes and colors, but it sure is worth trying. These 3 are available (9x12s and 8x10s).

Come paint with me in Alameda, CA On Aug. 3&4 for a 2 day workshop: Creating Mood and Atmosphere En Plein Air. The island is full of charm and great places to paint. Come a little early Aug 1 for the Exhibition and Sale from the Frank Bette Invitational to be inspired by what all of the artists created during the week. This was my quick draw piece from last year.
