Last day of the new year!! The last few months have been intense for me so I haven't been able to post much, but I hope you all have been well, had excellent holidays and are excited for what is to come in 2023! (I know I am :D)

I decided to do an post this year instead of a or because I loved the idea of showcasing one piece created from every month. Makes me feel a bit more accomplished! Some months were definitely harder to chose from, but overall I think I did pretty darn good this year! Do you guys have any favorites?

What are your highlights from this year?

I think mine was being able to get out and table at conventions again. I won't be able to do many, if any, tables in 2023, so I'm eternally grateful for the experiences I had in 2022.

Happy Sumeru release day! :3 of course I've already got my eye on Dehya... and Candace and Collei.. and and.. well basically all ahaha.

I cannot wait to meet Bond :D I bet Anya and him get up into all sorts of mischief!

I'll be at this weekend! Table D05! I created some new Anya mugs and coasters and restocked previous designs as well! They were a big hit during CRX so if you're interested make sure to stop by early ;)

All things considered, I really expected Yor to be the first fan art I create from Spy X Family but... Anya is just so freaking adorable I have a hard time paying attention to any of the other characters! (Not that I *don't* have a Yor in the works, because of course I do). I fell in love with the idea that.. because she knows exactly what her parents do.. she would want to play dress up as them when they weren't around. This idea was inspired from episode 12.. T.T which is also the last episode until October!

I didn't realize the season was split in half too! When it just ended I was so sad! I don't want to have to wait until October. I also didn't realize that Attack on Titan was going to have a third part... so I'm doubly disappointed now

I'll be at Crunchyroll Expo this weekend! Table T132 with a few new prints/stickers/mugs.. including miss Anya here!

The speed at which I am creating new art pieces right now is 100% not sustainable, but at the same time... I am rather impressed with myself? haha If there was ever a stress test of how efficient my current style is, it would be this and I'm really, really happy with the results. I also now know that if it takes me forever to color a piece it is because I am being easily distracted aha.

In any case, I finally finished this Xiangling piece I started almost a year a go. She went through a couple of revisions without being completed but now she's done and adorable, and this poor unsuspecting boar doesn't know its future in Wanmin Resturant. 😆

Updated Asuka piece just in time for Crunchyroll Expo! Sometimes I wish I could turn this part of my brain off. I created this illustration back in 2019 but never had a chance to make a print because well.. y'kno. Evangelion was one of my top animes growing it. Mistao is my bae but Asuka's always been a close second. Now that I'm doing conventions again I have the opportunity to create prints and I was super exicted about that..

Until I realized I just hated how it looked. I've grown enough as an artist in the past 2 years that I just couldn't.. ahah. My pride would not let me. Instead, I spent the last 2.5 days correcting, redrawing/inking/coloring as fast as possible to make my print order deadline. I was honestly pretty irritated with myself but.. seeing the final result I am glad I did so.

I eventually want to redraw a lot of my older pieces. I still love the ideas/composition but I have just enough confidence in my current skills that I know I could improve upon them vastly. Do you guys revisit old pieces often? or just move on and create new ideas?

In another episode of an idea that has been sitting in my brain for two years now.. Haruka and Michiru! I remember the first time they were introduced on Sailor Moon and even then, under the whole "cousins" guise their love for each other was so obvious that they quickly became one of my early favorite couples. I'm really so delighted to have the confidence and skill to recreate them now.. idk how many years later.

While I do have a Sailor Scout version of this piece, I really love the plain clothes one The fashion on Sailor Moon is really iconic and I hope I did it justice here. I also like to imagine this as a snapshot from a date they're on. The plain clothes just make it feel more real life to me.

I will have prints availabe at CrunchyRoll Expo August 5-7!
