✨ Let’s meet San Diego’s Freshest Voices in Art 2025! Our year-end show features 12 local artists who have been working tirelessly to put on this Saturday’s show.

These artists participated in our keys to the art world program this year. They learned how to create a unified body of work, how to create a studio practice, and how to take their art to market.

Part of the program was to also prepare, plan, and invite people to their gallery exhibition.

Join us Tuesday nights for Realism Drawing Level 1 with San Diego artist Bret Berndes!
Born and raised locally, Bret is a representational artist and instructor known for his deep connection to nature, his love of plein air landscapes, and his expressive approach to the human form. With over seven years of teaching experience, Bret brings both technical skill and genuine passion to every class.

In Realism Drawing, students will explore the foundations of realistic drawing—line, form, shading, and proportion—while learning how to see and render the world with an artist’s eye. For those ready to go further, Bret also teaches Portrait Drawing Level 2, where students refine technique and dive deeper into expressive realism.

We love hearing what our students have to say about their time at Art on 30th!

Art on 30th is “where artists come to grow” —an art center focused community. We want to provide as much support to our local community as we can and help our local artists succeed. 💪

Students enjoy the many benefits of taking an art class in-person versus watching a video online. You get real time guidance from an experienced instructor and, more importantly, you get feedback and support from your classmates. Even friendships bloom.

We provide a very clear path of growth 🌱and offer something for all skill levels, from abstract to realism, drawing to painting.

We also offer studio rentals and call for artists to showcase their work in our art gallery. 🎨🖼️

Need a place you can paint and be inspired? A place that allows for you to get messy and creative? Try our shared studio rentals!

Our shared studios are designed to accommodate painters who need a space to paint in but a private studio is not available or affordable.

No rental lease required and the artist is welcome to come to Art on 30th and paint anytime during business hours and when classes are not full in the 1st Floor classrooms.

Lockers are also available on a first-come basis at $25 per month—a great add-on for our shared studio artists.
