I wanted to do a piece based off of familial ties and what that looks like in our culture. Family is everything. It’s the foundation of who we are and where (and who) we come from. Growing up, my brother and I were taught to greet each family member- say hello and give a hug and kiss. And when we leave, do it all over again. Didn’t matter if it was a party of 60+ family members. Say hello and bye to each one. This is absolutely a part of our culture and something I wanted to capture in this piece. I hope you can see a little bit of you and your own family in it🩷
