Space Time cultivates the creation and presentation of time-based art works in San Diego. We are not a non-profit; we are completely DIY, off the books. We believe artists deserve to be paid, therefor we pay artists all profits from the door and bar sales after covering expenses. We have ongoing GoFundMe and Patreon campaigns if you'd like to support our artist funds and equipment expenses.

Can’t believe Jfre Coad is gone. We were honored to host W0rkf0rce at Space Time. It was an amazing performance. Besides that, Jfre was a friend that showed up and made loads of smart wild stuff. Always fun to talk to, just a fu***ng beautiful human being. Love to all his friends and family ❤️

Initially created as an editing exercise for his students at UCSD, Jenkins’ 𝘐𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘋𝘰𝘨𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭 mixes poetic narrative fragments of self-shot footage with moments ripped from the unending flow of TV news, advertising, and entertainment.

About 𝘍𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴, 𝘉𝘰𝘰𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘉𝘰𝘣: 𝘈 𝘏𝘪𝘫𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘏𝘰𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘺 𝘏𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘏𝘶𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘰
Bob Cratchit is on his way to work when a spaceship crash lands in his path. In this extraterrestrial twist on a holiday classic, an alien, a museum educator, and an enormous piece of sacred toast help Bob navigate his existential workplace woes.

Through a series of sing-alongs, the audience will help Bob decide whether to give in, organize, or burn it all down.

At 5PM, join us for a screening of 𝘌𝘭 𝘕𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘢𝘻𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘢: 𝘊𝘺𝘣𝘦𝘳-𝘈𝘻𝘵𝘦𝘤 𝘛𝘝 𝘧𝘰𝘳 2000 𝘈.𝘋. (1996) by Guillermo Gómez-Peña, Adriene Jenik, Roberto Sifuentes. Then, at 6PM enjoy a performance by Rancho Shampoo & The Indian Dub Orchestra.

Guillermo Gómez-Peña is a Chicano performance artist, writer, activist, and educator. He was born in Mexico City, and moved to the US in 1978, earning a BA and MA at California Institute of the Arts. He has created work in multiple media, including performance art, experimental radio, video, photography and installation art.

Guillermo Estrada (Rancho Shampoo) holds a BA in History and an MFA from UCSD in Visual Art. Within the visual arts, his work is developed between the performative, music, and film. He is co-founder of the festival "Doña Pancha Fest" and Director of the audiovisual project "La Catedral del Underground."

Rancho Shampoo & The Indian Dub Orchestra ( ) (Guillermo Estrada, Rubén Alonso Tamayo, Rodo Ibarra, Julián González, David Bautista Toledo) is a group of “Aliendígenas” from the border regions of California and Mexico. This experimental musical performance explores identities through the concept of aliendigenismo, or the shifting/transcendance of a person or group through real and spiritual borders, territories, physical bodies, and realities. Rancho Shampoo was recently included in the 2023 MexiCali Biennial, "Land of Milk & Honey" at The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art, Culture & Industry.
