We are so thrilled to have been able to collaborate with Patrick Carfizzi, Peter Walsh, Conduit Studios, and San Diego Opera on an extra super special guest short!

Patrick Carfizzi - Doctor Bartolo in San Diego Opera's upcoming production of "The Barber of Seville" (also starring our LA CENA artists Josh Arky and Alex Rodrick) - prepares tells us a little bit about the Spanish tapas tradition and makes a delectable dish. Oh - and he sings too!!

Patrick Carfizzi, bass-baritone, was born into a family of cooks; food, and comfort food in particular, has always be a big part of his life. Mom and Dad owned a catering business for a while and Patrick, only a year or two old at the time, got to taste just about everything they cooked in lieu of traditional baby food, blended down, of course!

Be it American, Italian, Catalan, Spanish, Indian or other cuisines, food and music have kept him mostly sane. His love of precision chopping, Penzey’s Spices, eggplant and mushrooms can not be overstated. He has enjoyed hosting dinners for armies of folk while traveling for Opera over the years, mostly with Italian themed menus. Invention in the kitchen has lead to some very nice culinary discoveries for Patrick and a few proud disasters all accompanied by whatever tune my come to mind. Never a baker, always a cook, someone else needs to make the Bread and Brownies, please.
