Kappa, the Japanese Mythical Creature Devouring Disobedient Children👹👹👹

-The Kappa is a water demon that lives in rivers and lakes and eats disobedient young children, according to traditional Japanese folklore. The Kappa, whose name means "river child," is typically portrayed as having a tortoise-like body, a frog's beak, and limbs, as well as having a hole filled with water on top of his head. Despite being essentially aquatic species, it is thought that they occasionally travel ashore.

ONE EVENING IN AUGUST 2016, Sam Jacobs and his girlfriend were playing Pokemon Go near the inky shore of Lake Isabella, in Loveland, Ohio. The lake is regularly stocked with catfish, bluegill, trout, and perch (to the delight of local fishers). But the couple saw something that struck them as more than a little odd—and it wasn’t a creature roaming their phone screens.

“We saw a huge frog near the water,” Jacobs told Cincinnati’s WCPO television station. “Not in the game,” he added. “This was an actual giant frog.”

However, when Lieutenant Steyn van Hansbroek caught and killed one, things changed. Explorer W. Douglas Burden wasn’t happy with just a dead specimen and decided to travel to the island to capture a live one. He returned to New York City with a few dead specimens and not one, but two live komodo dragons. The dragons were put on display at the Bronx Zoo and inspired Merian C. also known as the forest giraffe, the okapi is a blend of a zebra, donkey, deer, and antelope. Yet, its closest genetic link is giraffes. Europeans in the 18th and 19th centuries called this animal the “African Unicorn.” Of course, Africans knew the okapi existed, since these animals inhabit the Ituri Forest in central Africa. Because opakis are rarely seen and are extremely hard to find, they were classified as a cryptid for many years. In 1901, Sir Harry Johnston found an okapi skeleton and skin and sent it to the British museum, where it was classified as a new species.

There’s no reason to suspect that Rutherford B. Hayes, America’s bookish and extravagantly bearded 19th president, ever laid eyes on the giant, bipedal Loveland Frog (or Frogman), as it’s come to be known. Or that he was scared by an unsettlingly oversized iguana. He probably never made the acquaintance of the Mothman either. Or the Grassman (Ohio’s answer to Bigfoot). Or South Bay Bessie, the Loch Ness–style monster said to patrol the waters of Lake Erie.

But Hayes’s presidential library and museum, in Fremont, Ohio, has recently mounted a show called “Ohio: An Unnatural History,” about the legendary creatures that go bump in the Midwestern night.

Amarok sounds like something that just stepped out of a movie! It’s a humongous and ferocious giant wolf that roams the barren lands of the Artic. Amarok hunts alone in the wilderness instead of living in a pack. The roots of the legends also come from the Waheela giant wolves that come from northern parts of Canada.

A famous Danish geologist Dr. Hinrish Johannes Rink said the term Amarok only is considered ‘fabulous’ by Greenlanders whereas other people of the Arctic believe Amarok to be a monstrous wolf bigger than humans.
