An Aerial View of the best beach in San Diego, which they refuse to finally fix the sewage problem. With dolphins in the surf, pelicans, and many more birds, this center of coastline is for the only Grunion Run on the planet. Last stretch of ocean beach with Estuary before Mexico, this sewage problem goes north and south far past the initial beaches.

From Sky to Sea: San Diego Bay

My new 30x24 acrylic painting captures a bird's-eye view of San Diego, inspired by two of my favorite perspectives of this beautiful city: the breathtaking approach into San Diego by air and the unforgettable moments spent on the water watching dolphins play in the bay. The painting features the historic Hotel del Coronado, the graceful curve of the Coronado Bridge, and the vibrant coastal energy of the ocean, from sailboats and waves to the lively movement of marine life. As a retired, self-taught artist and a San Diego resident, I find inspiration in the places I experience and love, transforming those memories into colorful expressions of the beauty around me.

I just started acrylic painting and have been doing some still lifes and landscapes that were value-driven. I tried this to focus on color temperature to drive the composition vice value, and to play with color.
