Eric Snell, an artist with a career spanning over four decades, has consistently explored the intricate relationship between materials, processes, and the natural forces that surround us. From his earliest experimental Kite Drawings, through to his magnetic and burnt wood work, Snell has been interested in exploring how natural elements and everyday objects cannot only collaborate to support, shape, and inform his work but he is also interested to see how these components can often dictate the outcome.

Central to Snell’s artistic philosophy is the concept of the artist as a catalyst, a mediator who brings together disparate elements to create a visual as well as cerebral and physical balance.

Born in 1953 in Guernsey of the Channel Islands in Great Britain, Snell is currently based in Wiltshire, UK.

Summer Group Show: Drifting in Unison
Opening Reception: Saturday June 6, 2025 11am-1pm

Spanning historic and contemporary works dated between 1963 and 2026, this selection includes pioneers of the minimal, the conceptual, and light and space movements of the 20th century together with several artists currently working in San Diego, Los Angeles, and New York that work within and expand upon and those definitions. Collectively and across painting, sculpture, and photography, the artists in Drifting in Unison pay careful attention to the specific conditions they reside in or impose upon their work, resulting in an evolving sensibility grounded in repetition, geometry, and atmosphere.

Michael James Armstrong, Richard Artschwager, Uta Barth, Adam Belt, Otto Bol, Mary Corse, Tony Delap, Mara De Luca, Peter Dreher, Frederick Hammersley, Tim Hawkinson, Robert Irwin, Heather Gwen Martin, and John McCracken

OPENING JUNE 6

On view through July 25, 2026

Please join us for the opening reception of Nancy Blum: Stars and Stripes, the Brooklyn-based artist’s second solo exhibition with the gallery.

For this exhibition, employing graphite and colored pencil on black paper, Blum has created a large-scale installation of alternating Stars and Stripes compositions. The juxtaposition of vertical bands of color and radiating light forms, each etched with unique undulating shapes, brings together what initially emerged as two distinct bodies of work. Over time, the series began to inform one another and, installed here together, generate a pulsating visual field that amplifies the singular and the multiudinous through precision, iteration, and accumulation.

The many lives of Electric Picnic by

Roman de Salvo often returns to past projects, sometimes remixing them from a new conceptual angle, such as Electric Picnic which appeared at ONE in 2022 after originating at his 2019 residency at The Timken Museum of Art in San Diego’s Balboa Park (final slide: photo by Philipp Scholz Rittermann)

Responding to the museum’s collection of European Old Master paintings, de Salvo focused on Jean-Honoré Fragonard’s Blindman’s Bluff (1775), isolating the bifurcated tree beneath which a group of aristocrats gather and play. Reconstructed using slotted angle hardware and twin-socket lamp adapters, he transformed its rococo imagery into an illuminated sculpture surrounded by benches, inviting viewers to inhabit the work.

For Quint ONE, de Salvo stripped back ornamentation and altered its base. At the center of ELECTROSPECTRUM is a third iteration of Electric Picnic, with yet another take on the erector set-like format.

This is the final week to see ELECTROSPECTRUM - The exhibition closes after next Saturday, May 23.
