Christina Kubischs interaktive Klanginstallationen eröffnen akustische Zugänge zu Schichten unserer Umwelt, die sonst verborgen bleiben. Kupferdrähte leiten eingespielte Klänge als elektrische Signale durch den Raum, deren elektromagnetische Felder von speziellen Induktionskopfhörern aufgefangen und hörbar gemacht werden.

Christina Kubisch’s interactive sound installations open up acoustic pathways to layers of our environment that would otherwise remain hidden. Copper wires transmit recorded sounds as electrical signals through the space; their electromagnetic fields are picked up by special induction headphones and made audible.

Seit 5 Tagen durchströmen besondere Sounds von Klangkünstlerin Christina Kubisch 2000 Meter Kupferkabel und das ZiMMT. Zwei Arbeiten machen sonst Unhörbares hörbar, etwa Klänge eines Umspannwerks oder Sicherheitsschranken verschiedenster Orte auf der Welt. Eigens von der Künstlerin entwickelte Induktions-Kopfhörer machen es den Besucher:innen möglich, elektromagnetische Felder akustisch wahrzunehmen und durch Bewegung eigene Kompositionen zu erzeugen. Noch bis zum 18.10. ist Kubisch’s beeindruckende Arbeit im ZiMMT zu sehen und zu hören – Nicht verpassen!

RAUM+KLANG 2026 – Recap 🎧

On September 23 and 24, more than 60 experts from the region and international guests came together at ZiMMT to exchange ideas on Spatial Audio as a technology, artistic medium and media practice.

The focus was on software development, VR audio, Ambisonics, new Spatial Audio venues – and above all, on direct exchange between industry, research and the arts.

Thank you to everyone who joined us! We look forward to developing the format further and strengthening Leipzig’s position as an international hub for 3D Audio.

Christina Kubisch makes electromagnetic fields audible and opens up new perspectives on the space that surrounds us. RAUM+KLANG Day 1

📆 On September 23.+24.26, ZiMMT, Leipzig

will become the meeting place for the international spatial audio and immersive community as part of the RAUM + KLANG conference. RAUM + KLANG brings together artists, developers, researchers, audio engineers, producers, and creative professionals to shape the future of immersive media together.
The conference focuses on the exchange between artistic practice, technological innovation, and industry, as well as new perspectives on spatial audio in music, film, games, XR, and media art. The program includes, among other things, inspiring talks, listening sessions, and hands-on workshops. RAUM + KLANG creates space for knowledge transfer, networking, and collaboration.
