I can now add misquoting and inappropriate application of Freud to wild misinterpretation and misquoting of Maslow as some of my super duper amazingly huge pet peeves. That’s mostly because people who like to think more than they do about stuff like that, well meaning though they are, can be extremely dangerous to unwitting onlookers.

Id, Ego, and Superego are far more nuanced elements of a persons psyche than amateur psychotherapists might have us believe, but I suppose that’s why there is no real career track for the amateur. Particularly where the scientific credibility of Freud’s theories are concerned, some might suggest they were nothing more than source material permitting an old pervert to talk about s*x in mixed company. Still, someone obviously read the Wikipedia page or an article on the medium, misusing and misquoting Freud in my general direction. What a shame…

I passed a test that allows me to be a principal in around 17 states. I went ahead and took the superintendent test too, just for giggles. Also passed that one. I took my comprehensive exams for my doctorate and passed that. I'm now a doctoral candidate an start my dissertation in 2/1, just in time for the Chinese New Year.

I gutted a room in my house, pulled out the carpet, took down the fake wood paneling, repaired the drywall, framed in a couple of closets, mudded the walls, painted, and am about to install flooring so I have a new, incredible sanctuary.
