Hey Band!

Just a reminder that Band Camp started this week. Our next rehearsal is tomorrow (Wed. the 15) at 8 AM. Special shout out to the Trombone section for having perfect attendance every day this week so far!

Second reminder: Our field trip to Six Flags is scheduled for this Thursday (7/16)! Please be at the band hall by 7 AM so that we can leave on time. If you have a conflict or no longer have an interest in going please reach out to Mr. Dergent so that we may rectify the situation. Spread the word!

Due to unforeseen circumstances and severe inclement weather tomorrow, we will be postponing the Six Flags Trip. The new date for the trip is to be determined. We apologize for any inconvenience and will keep you updated with any new information.

Here is the itinerary for the band trip this Thursday. Please keep in mind that Six Flags is cash free, so if you would like to spend money at the park, you must use a card or tap to pay. We will also be stopping at Buccees on the way home.

This past weekend our 7th and 8th grade band students had the opportunity to compete in our District Solo and Ensemble contest. Each student prepared a solo piece to perform for one of the judges. Out of 31 competing students, 8 of them recieved a first division (superior) rating fom the judges. This is the highest rating you can recieve in any form of Band contest. Those students are as follows.

Serenity Coots (Baritone)
Aaron Feathers (Clarinet)
Londyn Wilson (Clarinet)
Sparkle Wade (Clarinet)
Hadley Gibbs (Trumpet)
LaKelsey Lacy (Alto Sax)
Gage Currey (Tuba)
KJ Jones (Prcussion)

In addition to these 8 superior ratings, 8 students also recieved a second division (good) rating.
