About SAY Sí (.satx)
SAY Sí began as a program under the umbrella of the King William Neighborhood Association in a space at the Blue Star Arts Complex [a large warehouse arts district south of downtown San Antonio]. Classes began in February of 1994 with 12 students from one high school, with studio sessions held three days a week. Since that time, SAY Sí has steadily grown to include nearly 200 students from over 70 schools in its programs, with studio sessions held 6 days a week. Additionally, thousands of youth throughout Bexar County participate in SAY Sí’s outreach program, ABC [Artists Building Communities].

Excited for The DoSeum's Artist-in-Residence open call for the fall exhibition October 10, 2020, to January 9, 2021. The DoSeum is looking for a San Antonio-based or regional artist(s) who has had direct experience with dyslexia and/or interested in creating an installation, experience, or body of work reflecting on dyslexia. Please follow the link for more details. The Selected AIR artist(s) will receive an honorarium of up to $6,000 and production costs of up to $10,000 to aid them in the ex*****on of their project(s). We are all coping with the pandemic and the quarantine as best we can. For this week’s episode of Stay Home Art Club, Casie goes live with Clinical Psychology PhD graduate student, Angeline Bottera, to discuss a few ways to work through our pandemic-induced anxiety.

Bottera holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Trinity University, a Masters in Clinical Psychology from the University of Wyoming and is on track to earn her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Wyoming. Bottera has presented research at international and national conferences and has been published in Best Practices in Mental Health and the international research journal, Appetite.

To help artists affected by COVID-19, we have worked with our community to form Artist Relief—a new national, multidisciplinary initiative offering immediate individual grants of $5,000, as well as resources to alleviate the effects of the pandemic.
