The Story Collider is teaming up with Worth Repeating and Texas Public Radio for a special live show in San Antonio on July 14 — and we’re looking for storytellers.
If you’re in the San Antonio area and have a true, personal story about science — a moment where science shaped your life, changed your perspective, or took you somewhere unexpected — we want to hear it.

We are so proud of the many SASA members who played key roles in the 2026 41st Texas Storytelling Festival. John Hale, our SASA President is the VP of TSA and ran the Rising Stars Concert. Our own creative and talented Vanessa Rogers was one of the Rising Stars this year and told a fabulous story. You can see in the 2nd picture all of our SASA members - Vanessa, Nathan Holiner, Mary Ann Blue, John Hale, Renee Williams and Sue Kuentz. Sue was the producer of the Youth Storytelling day in which one of her students, Lily May told a tale at the David Brock Youth Storytelling Concert on that Saturday, March 14th. You can see all the youth, with emcee and SASA member, Mary Ann Blue pictured together along with the youth coaches.

Our March SASA Story Night is upon us! Please plan to join us online or in person on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 6:30 pm CST for the San Antonio Storytelling Association’s SASA Story Night. Have fun with an Irish tale or any tale that you'd like to share. If you would like to share a story that is around 8 minutes or less, recite a poem, or sing a song, please email Sue Kuentz at [email protected] to get on the list and the Zoom link. All listeners and tellers are welcome at this hybrid event at O’Krent Floors, 2075 N. Loop 1604 E or online on Zoom. Zoom doors open at 6:15 pm CST. Check below for the Zoom link. What a fun gathering of storytellers and listeners at our February SASA Story Night! A diverse bunch of wonderful tales were shared including a tandem tale with Nathan Holiner and Chris Gillis. We concluded our SASA Dream Week tour at the Southside Lions Senior Center in southeast San Antonio, engaging a wonderful audience of 30 attendees. Thank you to our marvelous storytellers and their tales- Chris Gillis, Mark Babino and Sue Kuentz. We had so many kind seniors talk to us afterwards with compliments and more stories to share- YES! Share your stories!

This morning's story program at San Antonio's Robbie Robinette Senior Center was a smash hit with our 26 listeners. They clapped in rhythm, nodded, and sang along with MaryAnn Blue, sat in awe through a winter solstice legend with Vanessa Rogers, and laughed aloud with John Hale. What a blend of great tales!

Jane McDaniel and Nathan Holiner charmed listeners at West End Park Senior Center this morning with an Irish legend, a spooky Texas tale, a touch of humor, and a fabulous fable! We celebrate with West End Park and manager Juan Velasquez that this small center is soon expanding to include an exercise room and more art and classroom space--and maybe more storytelling!

This is my favorite festival in all of Texas and YOU are invited. If you are a Tejas Storytelling Association member, which only costs $35 a year, you can get early bird registration for only $65 for 3 full days of fun - concerts, workshops, fringes, featured tellers, youth tellers.
