On Saturday May 15th at 1pm CT, The Art Beat Foundation is bringing in renowned tap instructor Jay Fagan over Zoom for a special master class to benefit the light of the tap world, Nicole Hockenberry who is battling breast cancer.

Intermediate dancers may join online from anywhere in the world! If you are unable to make it to the class, sign up anyways--a recording will be made available for a week afterwards. The first 20 current ABDC students to register may attend in the studio.

During this most difficult time, RPM Youth Tap Ensemble extends their condolences to our director, Barbara Phillips and her family with the sudden passing of her sister Pat. Miss Pat was a staple in the dance community for over fifty years as a teacher, dancer, choreographer and studio owner. Not only was Miss Pat an extraordinary dancer, especially tap dancer, but it was through her training and mentorship that many of her students continued on to professional dancing and acting careers in both Los Angeles and New York. Thank you, Miss Pat, for your lasting impact on the San Antonio dance community. You will be forever appreciated and never forgotten.

There will be A Celebration of Life Service on Friday, October 20th at The Playhouse San Antonio at 1:00 pm for those who would like to pay their respects to Miss Pat and the family.

We are very saddened for the loss of Patricia Holbrook. She was a foundation within our dance community and served as choreographer at the Playhouse for countless productions. Many of her students have and will continue to perform on our stage in her memory. Please see the included image with this post for details about her life as well as services to be held here at The Playhouse on Friday, October 20th.
