Come hang out with us at the studio to hand build and/or throw on the wheel for just $30/person. Come as you are, all levels are welcome with a reservation. The more the merrier, so bring a whole gaggle of friends!

This is a self-guided studio session, however there will be a studio monitor to observe and answer questions. We will provide clay and supplies. We will also glaze and fire your work for you.

Open Studio is a great opportunity to have a ceramics studio space you can use that will fire your work, our goal is to make ceramics affordable and accessible to as many people that we can.

Your $30 contribution goes straight into the studio to cover cost of clay, materials, and other expenses. It also helps participating residents (studio monitors) with their monthly rent. Thank you for supporting local artists!

Join in a very special printmaking workshop !! This class is only $60 so sign up quick!

Relief printing introduction intended to provide the basics in designing, printing and inking your very own relief print. Meant for individuals with little to no experience who want to learn methods on how to print at home. You will also leave with a great understanding of printmaking materials and guidance when buying supplies on your own in the future. This is a beginner relief printmaking class so all materials will be provided but, it is highly suggested to come to class with a 4”x6” design ready to go so we can focus on developing new skills.

At the end of this class participants should leave with a good understanding of the fundamentals of relief printing (translating drawings to a relief print, transferring these designs to the matrix, carving safety/inking techniques, paper registration, editioning, material identification), they will also leave with the confidence to purchase their own supplies and begin printing at home.

Join Lauren of White Deer Apothecary and Jesselyn of Thrown Studio for a deep dive into Chai along with some fun in the clay! We’ll be crafting handmade jars and spoons in this workshop while learning about Chai’s roots and benefits. As we work, we will also get to taste a few different blends (both caffeinated and non-caffeinated). You’ll then be able to mix up your own custom Chai tea blend to store in your beautiful new clay vessel and enjoy at home.

It’s finally here!!!!!!!

Wednesdays 6-9pm

August 20th - September 24th

Students in this class will establish a deep understanding of dry materials, chemical reactions, and will begin to create their own glazes. We will make test tiles, do a button test of dry materials to better understand how they react when fired, two triaxle tests to start to understand how certain fluxes, materials and colorants melt to create glazes that are repeatable. We will finish the class by doing food-safe testing to see if the glazes we’re making are safe on items coming in contact with food.

Students will be required to take detailed notes throughout this class.

Instructor Julia Harmon is a ceramic artists based out of San Antonio, Texas. She holds a Bachelors in Fine Art in ceramics and textiles from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a Masters in Art Administration from New York University. Harmon has been a practicing artist for over 12 years with an emphasis in production ceramics and conceptual works based in Italian and Irish folklore.
