Haylie, our Grants and Community Impact Manager, visited Magik Theatre for a behind-the-scenes look at the organization’s work with children throughout our community.
Theatre is more than entertainment. For children, it can be a powerful tool for education, creativity, confidence, self-expression, and connection. It gives young people the opportunity to think differently, explore new ideas, build communication skills, and imagine possibilities beyond what they see in their everyday lives.
That is especially important at a time when so much of childhood is spent behind a screen and when access to arts and enrichment opportunities is not equal for every family.
During the visit, Haylie learned more about the many ways Magik uses theatre to create meaningful learning experiences for children both on and off the stage. The work is a reminder that investing in children also means investing in opportunities that help them discover their voice, build confidence, and see a bigger world of possibilities.
We are grateful to the Magik Theatre team for welcoming us and for the work they continue to do to make creativity and the arts accessible to children in our community.
