With over two decades of experience in lighting design, Jim Nealy has established himself as a
versatile and innovative force within the entertainment industry. Known for his dynamic
approach to lighting, Jim blends country, rock, and theatrical influences to create visually
compelling and immersive experiences for audiences all over the great state of Texas
Throughout his career, Jim has had the privilege of working with some of the biggest names in
music, including Sister Hazel, En Vogue, Clay Walker, John Michael Montgomery, Ludacris,
Cody Jinks, Lee Greenwood, Billy Currington, Kevin Fowler, Cory Morrow, Pat Green, and
Tauren Wells. His ability to adapt his lighting design style to suit a wide range of genres has
earned him a reputation as a highly sought-after designer across the musical spectrum, from
country and rock to pop and hip-hop.
In addition to his work with major artists, Jim has also lent his expertise to several local talents in
the San Antonio area, including Nick Lawrence, Mario Flores, Clay Hollis, Isaac Jacobs, and
The Spazmatics, among others. His talent for elevating performances from both established and
up-and-coming acts has made him a key figure in the local music scene.
Jim’s influence also extends deeply into the world of tribute shows, where he has designed and
executed high-energy lighting experiences for tribute bands honoring iconic groups such as
Journey, Bon Jovi, Metallica, AC/DC, Motley Crue, and Ozzy Osbourne. His ability to capture
the essence of these legendary performances, while adding his own creative spin, has made
these tribute shows a visually stunning homage to rock history.
However, one of Jim’s most rewarding roles is as the lighting designer for the You Gods Music
Showcase in San Antonio, Texas. For the past five years, Jim has been instrumental in crafting
the lighting for this unique and high-impact contest, which is dedicated to discovering and
promoting up-and-coming Christian artists. The You Gods Music Showcase provides a platform
for emerging talent to shine, and Jim’s lighting designs play a key role in elevating each
performance. His work helps these artists stand out, ensuring their messages are heard and felt
by the audience in an unforgettable visual experience. With a keen eye for detail and a deep
passion for supporting new talent, Jim continues to help make the Showcase one of the most
exciting and spiritually impactful events in the local music scene.
