Congratulations to Kristina Salinas for winning the 2026 Best of CAM Peoples Choice Award on Saturday!

Kristina Salinas’ Cognizant Distance at the Central Library Gallery in downtown San Antonio presents a visual exploration of the space-both real and symbolic-between herself and her Mexican roots. Tracing her paternal lineage, Salinas journeys from San Antonio through Laredo to her ancestral home in Candela, Coahuila, collecting images that reflect her cultural identity. The exhibition title plays on "cognitive dissonance," highlighting the tension between her life as a contemporary artist and the traditions of her family. Through this work, Salinas invites viewers to consider what is lost and gained across generations, honoring the risks and complexities of immigrant heritage. On view through April 4, 2026.

Community Clay Date with Meechi Ceramics at Mercury Project.

Community Clay Date at Mercury Project with Meechi Ceramics reviewing art of Susan Michael Sorensen. This beginner-friendly clay sculpting class will explore feelings of “the dark and the light” by using black and white clay body.

Class is on Sunday, March 22, 3-5pm and includes a short artist talk with the current exhibiting artist. Class is $50, registration required beforehand at www.meechiceramics.com/classes

UN/DOCUMENTED Exhibition

UN/DOCUMENTED is a series of portrait paintings depicting immigrant day workers in San Antonio, created through collaborative and consent-based sittings. The exhibition uses portraiture to challenge invisibility and affirm dignity beyond legal status.

Cyberpunk Carpa: Terminally Online is an exhibit of papier-mâché sculptures by SAY Sí students tackling the seldom-talked about topic of digital platforms and toxic business models out to get us.

Velvet La Vamp Studios in The Upstairs Studios at Blue Star Arts Complex is “Embodiments” A Solo Exhibition by Sol Macias.

Sol is a multi disciplinary artist living and learning in San Antonio. Embodiments is the first body of work in which Sol explores through graphite drawings how we take in life experiences through our internal value systems and how we express what has been filtered through back into the world.
