Tethered Arts Studio

Tethered Arts Studio Tethered Arts is an artist-run studio and gallery founded at the Blue Star Arts Complex in 2017.

Híjole SA is a new collective of artists working in studio 205 in building B of the Blue Star Arts Complex. We will continue in the space's commitment to giving young artists the experience and opportunity showing in a gallery setting by cooperating with North East School of the Arts students and this year adding students from The Circle School. The collective is also expanding to incorporate our

own life experiences and come together to embrace diverse perspectives on art in the San Antonio arts community and bring in local artists who share this same goal. Our official re-launch/opening, The Macabre, will be First Thursday, First Friday, and Second Saturday in October (the 5th, 6th, and 14th) with a group showing of all resident artists and other local artists. Come out and meet the new team and learn more about our goals in contributing to the growing San Antonio arts community and celebrating the diversity that is so indicative of the city we call home. Come out tonight for QUINTESSENTIAL TAROT from Sarah Longridge!

From the artist: Tarot cards have been created and used for centuries to interpret and preserve the symbolic language of the arts. I began painting the Quintessential Tarot in 2019 in an effort to creatively respond to the modern esoteric zeitgeist. The paintings displayed are a selection of the Major Arcana in their finished forms. Hidden in the layers of each painting are letters, numbers, sigils, and symbols or “keys” to the meanings of the cards.
