Proxy Theatre Company Theatre for today that asks: what's your story? Proxy Theatre Company is a San Antonio based organization founded in April of 2011 by a group of Trinity grads.

The young artists were eager to continue their creative journey by producing electrifying theatre for the local community. The company has grown from a few dreaming friends to an incredible collection of artists and contributors.

Broadway World reviewed Bethlehem-- and hated Solis' work. What do you think? Can strong performances save a work you don't like? What does it mean when a reviewer rejects the text but lauds the performers? This is why critics are an integral part of theatre: they challenge us to reflect on our work.

Octavio Solis is a prolific Latin American playwright with over 20 plays and numerous awards to his credit, or so I'm told. His drama Bethlehem, now playing in San Antonio, won the 2002 Latino Playwriting Award, but after seeing the show (my first introduction to Solis's work), I'm not exactly sure…
