En el Patio De Mi Casa, artist Sam Rawls explores memory, joy, and the incremental journey
of self-acceptance through her distinctive use of pointillism with confetti. Drawing from vivid
memories of childhood play, Rawls evokes the sensory richness of growing up outdoors—when
backyards transformed into imagined worlds.
This installation bridges the playful innocence of youth with the deeper emotional process of
becoming. It invites viewers to reconnect with the freedom of unstructured play while reflecting
on the ongoing work of healing and self-discovery. Through En el Patio De Mi Casa, Rawls
creates a space that honors both nostalgia and transformation—reminding us that even the
smallest moments can leave lasting marks.
