Theatre community of Texas, listen up! An alarming bill is being introduced in Texas that has wording that could effectively ban all trans performers of any kind. Basically if any gender non-conforming person is performing at all for entertainment, it can be considered a “drag performance” which would render the venue a “sexually oriented business.”

This would impose a $5 fee per person on any business that hosts a “drag” event. And it would be a Class A misdemeanor for any of these businesses to let in a minor even outside the event. The theatre community of Texas needs to speak out against these anti-trans bills being introduced and passed in the state, lest it destroy all of performing arts in Texas. If you are a performer that does not perfectly adhere to your gender assigned at birth, they want you gone!
