We are a couple (husband and wife team) of professional artists and crafters that live and work in San Antonio, Texas. We make jewelry, clocks, magnets, ornaments, handmade cards, paintings, and anything else we get our hands on. We love to spread the Latino/Chicano culture through our art using traditional imagery with a modern folk art approach.

It’s crunch time y’all!!! Come visit us at ! El SolStudios and will be in the 200 block of Madison Ave! My sister will be here with her handmade pop culture nail covers, we will have jewelry, prints, magnets, mixed media bottle cap bottle, fans, fabric art, all kinds of handmade coin purses and bags, pillows, ornaments and so much more! Working on new FOB key holders, and we will also bring some of mom’s Fiesta earrings!!!! Hope to see y’all there!

Miss Crafty Latina (Norma Gomez) will have lots of amazing vintage jewelry , her beautiful makes, and an incredible collection of beads, yes BEADS, for you all to shop from. Angelica Mayorga will be bringing her beautiful paintings and blocks. And it couldn’t be a fiesta without Pink Cat's Designs gorgeous wreaths and home decor!

WARNING, long post!
This is a late post, and there is a reason for that. (Keep reading to find out 😉).
This beautiful portrait of my mom Esther Guajardo was made and generously gifted to me by my very talented friend Martin Emmanuel Rangel. He surprised me at our last SoFlo Market and as you can imagine, I such an emotional mess that day, for many reasons. It is hard now doing markets without her being next to me, It’s hard now not being able to call her and show her my newest makes, purchases or ideas. It’s hard now not being able to ask her a question when I get stuck reading sewing instructions (I almost tried to call her today). It is hard knowing I won’t see her for Christmas. She loved seeing our family together.
But this is NOT a sad post!! I really wanted to share this beautiful painting with you all to remind you of her smile, her strength, her generous soul, and the amazing job that Martin did! It is the perfect way to remember her, don’t you think? I cannot thank Martin and his beautiful family enough, so feel free to send him a hello, a thank you, like his page, Emmanuel SA Artist, so he can feel as loved as I felt when I was presented with this treasure.
Now to the reason I hadn’t shared this beauty with you all. It was my intention to surprise my brothers and my sister with a framed copy. So I had asked anyone who had seen it and Martin not to post it,…however, (more sad news), after dodging the dreaded Covid for 3 years, it finally made its way into our home, ruining our Christmas plans😭 and my surprise. So my siblings will have to be patient and wait a little longer to get their gift. 💝 and sorry for ruining the surprise , I just couldn’t wait to share this anymore.
Thank you again Martin from the bottom of my heart for this amazing gift! I will cherish it forever! ❤️❤️❤️

Fact: Did you guys know El Sol Studios opened their doors for business one week before 911. Now that's 22 years later. Before our studio, however, Ruth had been making and selling for several years already.
Many thanks to Larry, Ruth, and her mom Guajardo for all the hard work to keep our little business open!
Although this is not our original location (first pic), it was definitely the funnest one! Thanks to and Carlos at Pulquerios, our current hosts, for keeping us active all these years by letting us partner with them at their beautiful store.
