Improvisation is at the heart of MESH!

Each pairing showcases the connection between a dancer and an artist of another discipline, and their ability to improvise in real time.

Improvisation isn't making things up.

It's paying attention.

It's listening before responding.  

It's trusting your years of practice while remaining open to surprise.

It's noticing another artist's idea and asking, "What can we discover together?"

Every MESH performance is created in the moment. 

What emerges belongs only to that room, those artists, and the people who witness it.

We think there's something beautiful about that.
