That’s not just a comeback story — it’s a *case study in music meets media.*

After nearly a decade in K-pop, Kevin Woo returned to the U.S. with just 10,000 Spotify listeners. Four years later, he’s now topping **20 million** — thanks to an animated film and a fictional band.

Netflix’s “KPop Demon Hunters” isn’t just entertainment — it’s a *game-changer* in music distribution and fandom-building. Two songs from the film are now the most-streamed in the U.S., outpacing even BTS and Blackpink on Spotify. I see this as a wake-up call:

When fictional characters move music faster than real artists ever did, we’re being reminded that **creative crossovers drive culture now** — not just records and radio.

🎬 Are we, as producers, ready to build for both the stage *and* the screen?

After nearly a decade in a K-pop boy band, Kevin Woo returned home to the U.S. four years ago, looking to expand his musical career outside South Korea. His monthly Spotify listeners, until recently, stood at about 10,000.
