Congratulations to the Davenport High School Wind Ensemble for being named the winner of the 2027 TMEA 4A Honor Band competition. This is one of the highest honors a Texas band program can achieve. Congratulations to the nine other state honor band finalists as well!

We are incredibly proud of our students for demonstrating hard-work and dedication throughout this entire past school year, and look forward to representing Davenport High School and our Comal ISD community at the Texas Music Educators Association Convention this coming February.

WOW! This week, our concert recordings were judged in two Area level competitions.

All three of our concert ensembles are advancing to the state level of the Association of Texas Small School Bands' "Outstanding Performance Series" contest. Each bands' concert recordings were individually judged at the Region and Area levels to reach this point. These recordings will be judged at the state level at the Texas Bandmasters Association convention on Thursday, July 16.

Our Wind Ensemble competed in the Area level Honor Band competition and received first place, advancing to state semi-finals! State Semifinals will be judged at the Texas Bandmasters Association convention on Thursday, July 16. State Finals will be held on Friday, July 17.

Congratulations to our amazing students for working SUPER hard this year and creating recordings worthy of recognition!

Congratulations to DMS Band for advancing to State as well!

More State Solo and Ensemble Contest news: we have a school record FOUR Outstanding Soloist awards this year! Congratulations to these amazing musicians!

"The Outstanding Performer Award represents the attainment by an individual of superior musicianship as demonstrated in the exacting competition of the Texas State Solo-Ensemble Contest." This is the equivalent of someone winning the state title for any event, and they will be awarded a Gold Medal from UIL for this honor!
