Here we go! The National Performance Network’s 2025 in-person conference, Stormshaping: Adaptation, Resistance, Reimagination, is happening this October 6th to the 9th.

At this year’s conference, Marissa Ramirez, Kendra Ware, and Virginia Grise will offer Soñar es Luchar: On the Radical Possibility of Collective Dreaming, a workshop inviting participants to share their boldest dreams and explore how the theater they are making reflects the world they imagine. Stay tuned! We will be sharing more about Soñar es Luchar soon!

We are honored to be recipients of NPN’s 2025 Creation Fund for Entre Lazos. Entre Lazos is a traveling performance and sobremesa – a convivial gathering, a sharing of stories, a wild imagining of how we nourish and support each other, with each production uniquely designed for its location (San Antonio, Tucson, Bronx, and Minneapolis) based on conversations with community members who have made commitments to be co-creators with nature. Entre Lazos is created and produced by a todo dar productions, which stages public interventions and builds convivial spaces for and with community to study, think, imagine, create and dream together.

We are so grateful for all the ways that the National Performance Network has supported our work throughout the years, from rasgos asiáticos to Riding the Currents of the Wilding Wind to our latest project, Entre Lazos. We are excited to be in dialogue and collaboration with NPN, Border/Arte, Pangea World Theater, Pregones / Puerto Rican Traveling Theater, and Terra Advocati. We are so grateful that we have this opportunity to advance this project with organizations that have supported us from the very beginning.

What are Talleres for Dreaming?
🌀
Talleres for Dreaming are performance labs that explore artistic and creative processes driven by the insurgent possibility of collective dreaming. Equal parts political study group, artist salon, community action committee, and theater, the talleres focus on embodied inquiry, facilitated conversations, curated gatherings, and art-making workshops that honor the lived realities, daily practices, rooted wisdoms, and embodied knowledge of local communities, culminating in a public performance and artistic provocations designed by taller participants.

At the 2022 San Anto: Taller for Dreaming Sobremesa hosted by Galeria E.V.A., we had the honor of being a part of a conversation led by our dear friend Tanya Orellana. During this Taller for Dreaming, Tanya shared about spatial justice and how she considers the distribution of space and the design of spaces across her work as a set designer and narrative installation artist.

We are continuously amazed by the innovative detailing and storytelling that Tanya Orellana creates with her designs. It is always a joy to collaborate with Tanya, from our work together on Riding the Currents of the Wilding Wind to our most recent performance, rasgos asiáticos. We are so excited to invite you to read Tanya Orellana’s writing from “Un Taller for Dreaming Sobremesa,” which you can find at the and here as a featured A TODO DAR blog post ➡️ https://tinyurl.com/dreamingsobremesa

In “Un Taller for Dreaming Sobremesa,” you will find Tanya’s account of the collective dreaming for equal access to healthy land, water and community that participants at the 2022 San Anto: Taller for Dreaming Sobremesa expressed in group conversation and Tanya’s accounts about her practice that we at A TODO DAR revisit with gratitude as we prepare to work on a new iteration of rasgos asiáticos in Tucson guided by the creative visioning of the good folks from Regeneración workshopped in a Taller for Dreaming as part of the Southwest Folklife Alliance’s Field School.

It is an honor to be in community with Tanya Orellana. Tanya, eres a todo dar!

We are proud to announce that A TODO DAR co-founder Virginia Grise and Alba Sereno were recently chosen to participate in the Texas Folklife Apprenticeship Program. Over the course of three months, through conversations and writing prompts, Vicki has been working closely with Alba to document and tell her familial stories and histories.

Alba Sereno focused her recent residency with Virginia Grise on different avenues, mediums and techniques for Storytelling, thinking about:
Seven generations past and future
The stories we keep and share
Stories about our interactions with and knowledge of the natural world
Storytelling as an archive in service of community

We hope you will join us in celebrating on Saturday, August 23rd, during Texas Folklife’s 2025 Virtual Apprenticeship Program Showcase that will include a conversation between Alba and Vicki and Alba’s sharing of an excerpt from The Plants that Raised Me, The Plants that Saved Me.

Announcing The Paris Hotel Fellowship
The Paris Hotel Fellowship is named for the visionary artist Laurie Carlos. Laurie generously invited Virginia Grise to live in her home in St Paul her first year out of graduate school. Laurie called her guest room The Paris Hotel. Virginia often credits Laurie Carlos and The Paris Hotel for shaping her early career as an artist and wanted to create a space for artists to land with the same intentionality and support offered by Laurie. The Paris Hotel is a one year fellowship for emerging artists. The fellowship is tailored to the individual needs of the artist and includes a $5000 stipend, one on one mentorship, professional development and growth opportunities. We are proud to announce artist Lydia Jialu Li 黎珈璐 as our inaugural fellow.

Lydia Jialu Li 黎珈璐 is an actor and dancer in theatre and film; a Sanlitun-er; a Chinese, English, Japanese and Emoji user, with a BFA in Sociology from Fordham College and a MFA in Acting from CalArts. Acting, storytelling and performing arts are Lydia’s inheritance of ancestry and culture, conduits of survival and imagination, as well as pursuit and practice of matriarchal magic. Form-blending, fun-seeking, and friend-making, they come from Suzuki, Viewpoints, Grotowski, French Mime, Butoh, modern dance, yoga and kendo, through China, Japan, the U.S. and Germany, to you.
