I’ve always had a difficult relationship with physical energy. I often feel as if I was born tired, but in reality I was really freaking vivacious until I turned double digits and the depression got its nasty claws in me.

It’s something I’ve really been thinking about a lot lately, as I planned this Aries season. The energy always feels like a breath of fresh air.

I’m pursuing this energy in my current work in progress.

The piece itself is an exercise in the determination and tapping into that warrior spirit. As I go to the canvas each day (after working out, I’m getting fit ya’ll!), I meditate on the Martial themes of physical energy, internal fire, courage, willpower and strength. Charging the canvas and myself with intent as I work.

In the end, this portrait piece is about finding your inner flame whenever you need it, calling on your inner warrior and having them meet you for battle, ready to take on the day.

Lastly, I’ve been wanting to create a fun and interactive newsletter focusing on art, witchcraft, and astrology. I’m thinking of having a sigil, some art prompts, maybe crafting a seasonal dish or drink that ya’ll can make? I dunno, I’m just in the brainstorming phase, let me know what you’d like to see and I might add it in!

My newest piece. A digital painting built around a sigil.

Life in CO has been great so far and I’m ecstatic to be back! John and I are both loving the change in scenery, and we’re still in the process of exploring (I’ll try and post a photo dump next week of our adventures). One big surprise though, it’s barely snowed since we got here in November. Like it’s dry dry.

Growing up out in The Void (Calhan / Eastern Plains), snow was something I waited for every Winter (you can get a glimpse of younger me fully enjoying it in the photos above). There were many times that there was so much snow we could easily climb up onto the roof of our barn. I was really hoping to show John all the wonders of it.

In Colorado, about 80% of the states’ water supply comes from snowpack according to The Coloradan. With the lack of snow, the state is in danger of extreme drought & wildfires.

So, hence the sigil. I created it with the intention to invite snow into the land. Throughout the piece you can find stylized depictions of magick being created, correspondences to water, and some folk traditions thought to bring snow, peppered in.

While researching for this piece, I learned that weather magick has been used for thousands of years, from ancient Mesopotamia to modern times. Today, Weather Magick is often used in environmental awareness/activism & to help balance rather than control the weather.

And hey, while working on this piece it did snow a couple of times!

Lastly, and most importantly, while I really freaking want it to snow more here, F*CK ICE and the atrocities they are committing. Protect each other, stay strong, and stay safe out there, friends.

Big life shifts are happening behind the scenes! So I’ll be stepping back from my socials for a bit.

My shop will also be closing for a while starting on 11/3 as John and I navigate big changes and new beginnings.

Thank you for walking alongside me through each season! seriously, every bit of support on my journey that y’all give means the world to me.

This isn’t a goodbye, just a pause before what’s next 🖤

I’ll be back in no time with more art and magick to share.

The first time I ever tried a pomegranate was at my older sister’s house. I was pretty young, but I’ll never forget how strange and enchanting it looked! Like tiny little rubies glittering in the late summer sun.

I don’t remember much else about that day, but I do remember the taste: the most delicious fruit I’d ever had. It surprised me, because at the time I was convinced nothing could ever beat a peach.

Lately, I’ve been diving into the pomegranate’s symbolism, mythology, and magickal uses within my practice, and I wanted to share a little of that info with you.
