The Aeriums 4th Annual Showcase 2026

Many esoteric traditions view Tarot as a map of consciousness that exists outside
normal time. In this perspective the cards describe patterns that repeat across
civilizations. Ancient knowledge is encoded symbolically rather than historically. Time
is experienced as layers rather than a line. This idea appears in traditions like
Hermeticism, Kabbalah, Mystical Christianity, some interpretations of Egyptian
symbolism. The Tarot then becomes less about predicting the future and more about
recognizing timeless patterns that repeat across eras.

Texas Aerial Gathering is a collaborative event founded and supported by aerial studios across the state, with a vision of bringing our community together in major Texas cities on a rotating annual basis. Our first gathering will take place in San Antonio, co-hosted by Cirque Aria and The Aerium, from August 20–23, 2026.
This four-day event will feature workshops, open discussions, networking opportunities, aerial jams, a performance, and more: all designed to connect, inspire, and elevate aerialists from across Texas.

Ladies and gentlemen, dreamers and seekers…Tonight, we invite you to drift beyond
the waking hour—and step closer to the veil between worlds…where each moment is
a glimpse into destiny.

Our story begins with one soul…a solitary dreamer, lost in sleep. But as the night
deepens, their world begins to shift.The ordinary dissolves…and they awaken—
suspended between sky and subconscious—in a realm where gravity loosens its
grip, and possibility takes flight.

Here, among the stars and silks, they encounter others: ethereal beings who embody
the arcana of the tarot— guides, tricksters, shadows, and light. Each one draws our
dreamer deeper into this surreal landscape, where every twist reveals a new truth,
and every ascent brings them closer to awakening.

Will they find their path? Will they understand the cards they’ve been dealt?

Luck can change in a moment. This act explores how life's sudden twists become adventures rather than disasters when shared with a partner. While time is linear, our journey through it is not. The wheel turns, indifferent to our plans. One moment, basking in success; the next, falling into the unknown. Our performers embody this brutal, beautiful volatility.

The Aerium is excited to present Cirque Volaer, our pre-professional student company, performing in The Aerium's 4th Annual Studio Showcase.

Cirque Volaer was founded in August of 2026. Some of our highest level students now have the opportunity to showcase their work both in our showcases and co-creating their own productions. Tavo Alvarado, a leading team member of Cirque Volaer, has been doing aerial arts for 11 years. Tavo's special skills include set production, graphic design, costume creation, lighting & sound, baking cakes and much more. Alvarado is debuting his 12 minute, Lady Gaga and tarot inspired moving artwork. Tavo crafted this piece for over a year before setting the choreography on our new company.
