“We are recruiting volunteers for our Sea Turtle Rescue and Recovery Program and our Sea Aggie Sea Turtle Patrol Program!

Join our volunteer team and make a positive impact on the marine environment! If you're passionate about conservation, we need your dedication to help us achieve our goals!

Rescue and Recovery is a year-round effort with training in November. Our Rescue and Recovery volunteers help by responding to hooked, injured or sick live and deceased sea turtles along the Upper Texas Coast (UTC). This training will teach you how to respond and gather data for conservation program. Every volunteer is vital! For any questions, please email our Rescue and Recovery Program Manager, Amy Mitchell, at [email protected].

Sea Aggie Sea Turtle Patrol is seasonal, April-July, and involves looking for tracks and nesting sea turtles. This requires a weekly commitment with training in March. We run 2 shifts per day, Monday-Saturday 7-9am and 10am-12pm. We have walking and UTV driving routes that monitor Galveston, Bolivar, and Surfside. There is an age requirement of 12 years old for our walking routes and 16 years old for our UTV routes. If under 18, you must have adult supervision. For any additional inquiries, reach out to our Nesting Program Manager, Paige Breon, by sending an email to [email protected]
