Our next FREE devised theater workshop is only a few weeks away! Are you coming??

Explore devised theater with Turnip Ensemble Theater and UTSA Arts at this Free Devised Theater Workshop. Open to ages 16 and up, this workshop will present an introduction to the tools and methods the Turnip ensemble uses to create brand new, original theater performances using words, stories, and movement.

Participants will be introduced to “Inheritance,” Turnip’s current in-process project, and invited to enter into our method by sharing their own perspectives, stories, and experiences as vital contributors to the piece.

Starting this fall, Turnip is launching a new partnership as an in-residence theater ensemble UTSA Arts and we couldn’t be more excited!

In just the few years since our founding, Turnip has seen a huge amount of growth and an enormous burst of creativity and energy from our grassroots community here in San Antonio. We’re absolutely thrilled to see where this new opportunity takes us, and excited about how a partnership with UTSA Arts will help us continue offering theater for everyone in our beloved city, whether they consider themselves an artist or not!

People talk about going “from page to stage” …but what if your process starts well before the page?

Swipe through to see how Turnip begins with absolutely nothing and turns it into a brand new theater production. This 11 month process, which culminates in a staged reading, will go on to become a fully realized world premiere (more on that later!)
