Space C7 is proud to present, DISCARDED GOODS, an exhibition of work by Austin artists, Bale Creek Allen, and Miles Earney. We are hosting an informal artists’ talk on Thursday, August 27th and you are invited! . Both artists will be in attendance from 7-10 PM with the talk at 8. Come meet them and view this special exhibit before it leaves. It’s gonna be great!!!

If you can’t come that night, the exhibition is currently on view and will be up through that night. You can walk in anytime, MON-SAT between 1-6pm, or call our Director, Jeff F. Wheeler (jefwheel)at (806) 392-1915 for an appointment. Space C7 is located in Southside Living and Maker Spaces (South Side Living+Maker Spaces) located on the southside at 2450 Roosevelt Ave.

Bale Creek Allen’s unique concept of taking actual tumbleweeds, tire treads, and other detritus objects found along open roads throughout the country and casting them into bronze sculptures are arguably his most recognizable works. However, like many of his favorite artists, Allen delves into numerous mediums and subject matter, never limiting himself to any one discipline. Allen has exhibited widely throughout the United States, Europe, and other parts of the world. He currently divides his time between Austin and NYC.

Miles Stelios Earney was raised on the rugged Cornish coast in the UK, near St. Ives, an artist community dating back to the 18th century. As a young man, newly arrived to the wide-open spaces of the American Southwest and seeing for the first time, the extraordinary cars of the American Fifties, he instantly fell in love. Very quickly, he could be found spending entire days roaming around wrecking yards marveling at the majestic forms in repose and was determined to make them a part of his life. Miles went on to restore dozens of vintage cars and motorcycles, and made them the subjects of his paintings and throughout his life.

We are excited we get to keep this fabulous pop up exhibit up for August featuring work by 24 artists that have played a special role in our gallery.  Summer can be wild and heat exhaustive so if you haven’t made it in yet you have another chance. We’re so thankful for this summer residency over at BLUE STAR ARTS COMPLEX. The exhibit is located in the former Cinnabar gallery (behind Joe Blues) in Suite 147.

On view will be some of San Antonio’s most celebrated artists alongside a few new faces, and a selection from the collection of Space C7.
