♻️🌍 Final Destination: Atacama Desert 🌍♻️
A dance inspired by an urgent environmental crisis—the Atacama Desert, now one of the world's fastest-growing dumping grounds for discarded clothing due to fast fashion waste.
Choreographed by Violeta De Leon Davila, this piece is a reflection on our consumption habits and a call to action. Where will we end up if we continue at this pace?
🌱 Created with repurposed, used, and donated materials—and after the performance, all clothing was donated to a school’s recycling bin to support sustainability efforts.
✨ Presented at the Grand Performance of the San Antonio Dance Festival 2023
🎭 Choreography: Violeta De Leon Davila
🩰 Dancers: Abby Hudgins, Grace Oettel, Carolina Jimenez, Lily Poirier & Marcelo Najera
🎶 Music: Greco Casadesus, Christophe Zurfluh, Hybridas
💡 Lighting Design: Alejandro Jaén López Peña
A powerful reminder that art can be activism. Let’s rethink the way we consume. 🌿
