Dominic Marco Canty plays William Morris Barfée, who’s famous "Magic Foot" method of spelling has boosted him to spelling glory. Dominic, born and raised in Marin County, is an actor with profound experience on the stage always leaving audiences wanting more. Dominic's dedication and range allow him to excel on any stage in any role. Dominic lives and breathes acting, even developing his own personal method to refine and fully develop his process to become the actor he knows he can be. Dominic Marco Canty returns to the stage after captivating audiences as Henry Antrobus in Thornton Wilder's The Skin of Our Teeth as Sky in Mamma Mia! MEET THE CAST OF NTC’S 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee!

Nicole Stanley plays Olive Ostrovsky, a young newcomer to competitive spelling. Olive’s mother is in an ashram in India, and her father is working late, as usual, but he is trying to come sometime during the bee—she loves her dictionary! Nicole is excited to make her NTC debut in one of her favorite musicals! After getting her BFA in Musical Theatre at Chico State in 2022, Nicole is now outreach coordinator for Art and Soul School, a youth music director at Cinnabar Theater, and a private vocal coach. Recent credits include Little Red in Into the Woods & Mayzie LaBird in Suessical (Spreckels), Alice in LIZZIE & Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance (6th Street Playhouse), Brenda in Catch Me If You Can (Masquers), and Martha in The Secret Garden (Cinnabar). She would like to dedicate her performance career to her late father.

MEET THE CAST OF NTC’S 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee!

Pat Barr plays Vice Principal Douglas Panch who is the word pronouncer as well as being quite infatuated with Rona Lisa Peretti who does not return his affections. Pat is glad to be back with friends on stage in Novato. Most recent productions include Kinky Boots at Throckmorton Theater and What Women Want at Masquers Playhouse. Past roles include Fagin in Oliver! and Harold Hill in Music Man with Stapleton Theater. He has been seen at NTC as Lazar Wolf in Fiddler on the Roof, as Amos, "Mr. Cellophane," in Chicago, Fester in Addams Family, Mr. Wormwood in Matilda The Musical! and most recently as Franklin Hart in 9 to 5!

Daniela Innocenti Beem, who plays Rona Lisa Peretti, is pleased as P U N C H to be back at NTC. You may have seen her here as boarding house owner Fraulein Schneider in Cabaret (SFBATCC Winner) or as the soggy tart, the Lady of The Lake in Spamalot or perhaps bending and snapping as Paulette in Legally Blonde (TBA Winner) or as everyone’s favorite mother hen Mama Morton in Chicago or maybe as the quintessential stage mother, Rose in Gypsy. Other favorites: Desiree’ in A Little Night Music, Dolly in Hello Dolly, Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard, The Witch in Into the Woods (TBA Winner), Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd and Aldonza in Man of La Mancha.) In Bocca Al Lupo.

25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE centers on a fictional spelling bee set in a geographically ambiguous Putnam Valley Middle School, some students being from various elementary schools. These six quirky adolescents compete in the Bee, run by three equally quirky grown-ups.

Everything That Can Go Wrong... Does!
Novato Theater Company is thrilled to be putting on a production of the award-winning comedy The Play That Goes Wrong. Our goal isn't simply to put on this show. Our goal is to create the kind of production that cast members are proud of and audiences remember for years.

This isn't your typical comedy. It's a fast-paced, brilliantly choreographed theatrical experience where collapsing scenery, missed cues, malfunctioning props, and spectacular mishaps create nonstop laughter. The challenge for the cast? Making every disaster look completely accidental while executing it with precision.
We're looking for actors who understand the nuance of comedy, love working as part of an ensemble, and are excited by the opportunity to help create something truly special.
