Help us celebrate this milestone!
https://angelo.edu/planetarium-anniversary

There will also be 2 opportunities to donate at the event:
1. The Physics & Geosciences Department has an annual food drive for Thanksgiving that benefits the Concho Valley Food Bank and Ram Pantry (on campus) - feel free to bring canned goods to donate for that!
-or-
2. Donate to the planetarium! There will be gifts available for those who donate during the celebration...

Our director sat down with Shawn Torres for a very interesting interview (follow the link for the full version)!
At public shows you can learn how to find where this is going to happen in the sky.

Just a reminder that shows are starting this week! Can't wait to see you all again!
This video by Randall Case at FOX West Texas has our own Dr. Carrell talking about the upcoming show schedule.

Planetarium Director Kenneth Carrell talks about what's coming this semester and why it's more satisfying (and cheaper) than a movie.

It's that time of year again - here is the planetarium schedule for fall 2025! We are excited to offer some very popular new shows and some old favorites. Please note the gaps in the schedule.

Also, this year is the 40th anniversary of our planetarium opening!! We have an exciting event in the works that will take place November 15 - so mark your calendars! More information and details will be provided as we get closer to the date.

Today our planetarium director Dr. Carrell and some ASU students are part of a coordinated high-altitude balloon launch with 3 other groups spread across the United States! They are measuring cosmic rays in the Earth's atmosphere all the way up to 30+ km (about 20 miles) 😳🤯

If everything goes to plan, you can follow all the balloons today using this link:

Are you a teacher?
Have a friend or family member that's a teacher?
(First, thank you to all teachers! We appreciate what you do!)

Our planetarium director, Dr. Carrell, is part of a Department of Education grant to bring hands-on activities and computational thinking skills into 8th grade science classrooms.

They are looking for school districts to join the STEMACES program and study, AND they are looking for companies/individuals who want to help support their work.

Please see the attached flyers and checkout the webpage for more information:
https://www.angelo.edu/stemaces

Help us spread the word! Please tag, forward, etc to teachers you know! We want to make an impact on as many districts, schools, and students as possible!

Can you believe that 1 year ago today was the total solar eclipse??

We hope you all had a memorable experience, especially with loved ones!

If you've got a particularly good story, picture, whatever, please share below!
