Dale Shely
This Saturday evening, at 5pm, following First Saturday, our Farm Family says goodbye to one of our own.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Dale Shely, the artist behind Coop 1: Tumbleweed Bands, Watches, & Leather Crafts.
Dale was one of those rare people whose kindness was as memorable as his craftsmanship. With a warm smile, a generous spirit, and an easy conversation, he made everyone feel welcome. Whether you came looking for a handcrafted belt, wallet, or another of his beautiful leather creations made from exotic hides, Dale took the time to get to know you and create something uniquely yours.
He was engaging and encouraging in sharing his craft with children, patiently showing them how simple raw materials could be transformed by hand into something beautiful and lasting. His passion for craftsmanship was matched only by his love for connecting with people.
To many of us, one of our favorite sights was Dale sitting on the porch outside his studio, waving to friends, neighbors, and visitors as they passed by. That chair may now sit empty, but his kindness, generosity, and gentle presence will forever be woven into the story of The Farm.
Dale leaves behind not only beautiful works of art, but also countless friendships and memories that will continue to live on here.
Our hearts are with his wife Jody, his children and his brother, and with the countless friends whose life he touched across the country. Thank you, Dale, for sharing your gifts, your laughter, and your heart with our community. You will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. ❤️
