To those that have volunteered for the SASA RIVERSTAGE CONCERTS:
Let me state I take full responsibility for the process of organizing the concerts at the Riverstage City sponsored events breakdown. In April I nominated individuals to assist me in these efforts. I had sent a final draft with them to meet with the city as I was out of pocket. this packet was for the cities counsel to review, however the volunteers did make the meeting but failed to leave the packet. I was under the impression all was in order and proceeded as planned. The city has informed me they never recieved a packet and thus could not sponsor us by giving the Riverstage for free. If we are to proceed we would need to rent the stage for those nights.

To make matters worse SASA was the victim of theft here recently which has crippled the organization soundly.
I regret to report that I can no longer support or go on with this project until and if we get sponsorship.
Again let me state I take full responsibility and regret letting you all down. Since the bands for the concert July 10th have been so organized and prepared I personally am renting the stage for this event and will do all possible to make a success of this event.
Those that are interested in proceeding as well I will be at your service.

This month 1 year ago a partnership was formed with a mission to fullfill dreams, a vision to help our visual and melodic artists accomplish their goals, a hope for unity among melodic artist, organizations and communities known as SOUNDSTAGE ARTISTS & SONGWRITERS ASSOCIATION (SASA).
During this first year it hosted 15 2 hour radio shows showcasing 51 artists, 22 performances showcasing songwriters and their songs, brought in Legendary songwriter Sonny Throckmorton, accomplished songwriter Austin Cunningham, City of Austin's songwriter of the year Will T Massey, booked $14,400 paying gigs for bands and solo artists, hosted a Meet and Greet, recorded and produced 3 demo CD's, grew to 32 members, received $1,740 in membership fees. Over 3,000 hours of labor.
The cost have been great but if one has been helped, it has been worth it? sponsored by 7 businesses totaling approx. $3100, 3 private citizens donating $11,667, $10,740 from one founding partner, had 3,312 labor hours volunteered 3,264 by the other founding partner who donated $8,641 in operating capital. SASA & Soundstage Entertainment are looking for 14 bands and as many as 45 solo/duo acts for the RIVERSTAGE SUMMER SONGWRITER SHOWCASE SERIES 2014. 10 bands to headline 4 to open for major artists. Solo will perform early evening. Scale will be paid. This is open to bands and solo artists in West Texas and the Austin Songwriters Group.
The 'Lonestar Songwriter of the Year' contests starts in May and winner announced at final concert AUG 28th. Details forthcoming!
The RSSSS is a production of SEG, LLC supporting 3 non profits including SASA.
