Announcement for 7th/8th Graders:
After school rehearsals for both Varsity choirs and any JV student interested in participating in Region begin next week in the choir room!

All choir students are being given a handbook to take home today. There are three forms attached to the handbook that need to be filled out, signed, and returned by Friday, August 21st. Please make sure you scan the QR Code on page 8 to be added to our BAND APP. In addition, those who don’t already have a Presto Assistant account can expect to receive an invite via email. Presto is what we use to keep track of financial items and is also where you can make online payments. Thank you for helping us have a great start to the year!

We love this year’s design! Order forms will go home with our handbook the first few days of school. Student shirts are included in their $50 choir fee and additional shirts will be $20 each.

We are beyond proud of these talented GMS Raider Choir students who represented Glenn in the 2026 TCDA Elementary Honor and Middle School All-State Choirs! It was a wonderful weekend in San Antonio at the Texas Choral Directors Association’s annual convention. The singers rehearsed for three days with other students from across the state and were under the direction of conductors who are masters in their field. We celebrated their success with a little bit of fun at Dave & Buster’s on Friday night.

They ended the conference on Saturday by presenting two absolutely remarkable concerts in the beautiful Lila Cockrell Theatre each ending with a standing ovation from the audience. It was an experience these young musicians will surely always remember. Mr. Capps and Mrs. Johnson are bursting with pride!!!

We are so excited to announce our 2026-2027 Choir President, Emma Mikeska! This will be Emma’s third year in Choir at GMS and she has proven to be a natural leader from day one. Emma , better known as “Mikeska” in the GMS Choir Room, is a remarkable young lady who is admired by her teachers and respected by her peers. We can’t wait to see how this next year unfolds with her as a student leader. Congrats, “Mikeska!”

Congrats to the Glenn Raider Choirs on a really successful day at UIL Concert and Sight Reading! The JV Treble Choir earned a Superior rating in Concert and an Excellent rating in Sight Reading!
Both the Varsity Treble Choir and Varsity Tenor/Bass Choir earned Sweepstakes receiving Superior ratings from every judge in both events! We are so proud of our students for this huge accomplishment after months of so much hard work and dedication!!!
