Can’t commit to an eight week class? Check out our Friends Night Out series almost every Saturday from 6-8 PM and other Pop Uo Prohects coming soon! Bring the family every Third Saturday from 10-2PM to visit the Concho Clay Studio, Education Studio, and Museum. Horacio Casillas, Concho Clay’s Studio Manager, had a great live webinar on Tuesday, sharing his process and giving viewers an opportunity to take a closer look at his work. The webinar was hosted by Ceramic Arts Network ‘Architecturally Inspired Surfaces with Horacio Casillas’

What happens behind the scenes is an important part of that process. To capture the fine details of his demonstration, Horacio built a custom camera apparatus and experimented with multiple angles to find the best way to share his work with an online audience.

Creating art involves more than what we see in the finished piece. It takes time, focus, practice, problem-solving, and a willingness to experiment and try again. Even for an experienced artist, the process includes preparation and plenty of trial and error.

These are the details that often happen outside the frame—the work, thought, and practice that make sharing art look easy.
