We are thrilled to announce the 2026 Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival, July 23 - August 2, 2026 at the Alliance Theater - Utah Arts Alliance at Trolley Square! Artist applications open on Monday, April 13 at greatsaltlakefringe.org, and the application will be available to preview on March 30. We can't wait to see what our performing arts community has been cookin' up! 💙🎭

Hey Fringe Friends!

Irene Loy is bringing her one-woman show, Book of Ego: A Sacred Parody back to Alliance Theater for a one-night reprise of her 2025 Fringe performance! 💙

The Utah Review called it a "tight, well-structured piece that emerged from improvisational origins," and "a biographical account of beliefs, the complications of faith, the impracticalities and impossibilities of trying to achieve personal perfection, and the ups and downs of life events and the resets that happen along the way."

Irene Loy is a performer, nonfiction writer, and nonprofit professional living in Salt Lake City. She holds an MFA in Dramatic Writing from the University of New Mexico, and she is working on completing her practice-based PhD in Creative Research with Transart Institute and Liverpool John Moores University via low-residency. She has worked in devised theatre with Tricklock Company and Imaginary Beasts. She has trained as an improviser since 2016 and has played with Improv Medicine, Santa Fe Improv, and Last Laugh Improv ensembles. Ticket link here:

The last day of GSL Fringe is here and there's still time to see a show!

There will be performances in all three venues today, on the Alliance Theater - Utah Arts Alliance main stage you can see "Welcome to Fat School" at 4:30 p.m. and "Hook vs. Pan" at 6 p.m.

In the Alliance Theater black box we have "The Words at the Door" at 4:30 p.m., Juan Jose and the Deadly Vatos at 6 p.m. and "The Rest is Silence" at 7:30 p.m.

At the MadKing Fellowship Theater at the Gateway there is "Overemployed" at 4:30 p.m. and "The Resurrection Men" at 6 p.m.

Following the final show, at approximately 8:45 p.m., we will have our closing night party and awards.

Happy Friday GSL Fringers!

Wondering what to do this weekend? Spend it with us!

Shows begin at 6 p.m. this evening in the MadKing Productions' Fellowship Theater at The Gateway, and at 7:30 p.m. at Alliance Theater - Utah Arts Alliance main space and black box at Trolley Square.

Tomorrow shows go from noon to 10:30 p.m. and Sunday they go from noon to 7:30 p.m. then there's the closing night party!

Some shows are already sold out, and we are starting to add seats, while others are close to capacity, so grab your tickets while you still can!

GSL Fringe picks back up tonight!

At 7:30 p.m., the black box at Alliance Theater - Utah Arts Alliance
has "Second Grade Problems," then "The Rest is Silence" at 9 p.m.

Over in the MadKing Productions' Fellowship Theater at The Gateway, there's a performance of "Ants Go Marching" at 9 p.m.

Some shows are already sold out, and we are starting to add seats, while others are close to capacity, so grab your tickets while you still can!

Fringe goes until Sunday, Aug. 3.

Happy Wednesday Fringers!

We have a show in our bring-your-own-venue space tonight, which is the Beehive at 666 S. State St. Improv Ave. has a performance at 7 p.m.

GSL Fringe returns with shows tomorrow in venues one, two and three and we are selling out!

Today we'd like to highlight our wonderful venue three, the MadKing Productions Fellowship Theater at The Gateway. The theater is on the upper floor, near the Megaplex Theaters, between Tucanos and The Bruce.

In case you haven't seen them, awesome Fringe T-shirts are for sale at the Fellowship Theater for $20 each, and are custom made on the spot!

After you've seen some shows at The Gateway, head on over to venue one and two, the Alliance Theater - Utah Arts Alliance at Trolley Square, which houses the main hall and black box.

It's going to be the best party in town! Shows continue until Sunday.

Warning! This is how you might feel if the GSL Fringe show you desperately want to see sells out!

Our first weekend was incredibly well attended and some shows are already sold out while others are close to capacity.
