I'm going to be singing and leading songs for all ages to sing together in a big ol' wave of harmony at this beautiful event! I hope you'll come and clap your hands and sing with me.

Keeping our families together is an issue most everybody can get behind! (and if you can't, boy oh boy do you really need to get some more hugs). I'm going to be hollering at "Creating Beloved Community" on Saturday because in my vision of MLK's "Beloved Community" (or Ecotopia as I like to call it) we never ever separate a child from their parent. Together we can create that world. But we won't create it by sitting on our asses and not practicing singing together!

"SHAKE YOUR PEACE! and The Whupestra," is an experimental musical theater company, and a proud Broader Impacts Partner of the National Science Foundation. Featuring a 26-person cast of musicians, dancers and actors, the company blurs the line between a band and a musical theater production.

The company's first show, "Ecotopia Now!," (www.ecotopianow.org) developed with a grant from the NSF, will debut in April 2020 in Salt Lake City, UT, sharing urgent climate science and eco-literacy with 30,000 high school and college students, through spectacular, bicycle-powered, musical theater.

Future plans for the company include presenting regular concerts at Utah-area arts and music festivals, and creating a theater residency in Salt Lake City, prospectively titled: "The Ground Rituals: now the way up is down..."

Ecotopia Now! is a day-long educational program presented to Utah high school and college students. It combines: music, dance, poetry, bicycle-power, an information fair, and in-class workshops, to increase ecological literacy and empower young people to create a sustainable and just world.
