Here is JJ’s second set of memorable tattoos for 2025
“Peen-ana” - are you happy to see me or is that just a peenana on your leg?
Ruth Asawa - In July we found ourselves walking around the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco and I completely became obsessed with the wire sculptures of Ruth Asawa. This tattoo is my attempt to do a freehand piece inspired by our day experience her amazing work. Look her up, and then call me so we can talk about doing some more abstract tattoos.
Owl - people that get tattoos from my flash sets are the type of people that won the lottery and get to sit in the front rows of concerts. If you’re not that kind of person, get a flash tattoo from me and all of your dreams will come true. This was from my flash set in case you couldn’t figure that out.
Hobbit house - I really tattoo a lot of Lord of the Rings inspired tattoo. This one was pretty cool. I even found out someone in the area built a hobbit house in their backyard.
Candle - I’ve been painting as long as I can remember. Sometimes I get lost in a tattoo and find myself painting the image more than tattooing it.
Dog - I’ve always said that I owe my tattoo career to dog paws, and 15 years later, I still love being a part of helping people take their pets with them wherever they go.
Arm of confidence - The best part of tattooing is getting to be apart of someone’s journey to discover the skin they are comfortable in wearing. I love seeing her around town and the confidence that radiates out of her. She has been through some big changes, and I got to be a tiny part of it. That’s pretty cool.
Pieta - when I was a kid, at the Westroads Mall in Omaha, Nebraska, fora brief time they had a cast of the Pieta on display. Why it was there, I have no idea, but I remember standing in line for quite a while to see it. As a kid I actually thought I had touched a Michelangelo statue.i had not. But I did touch a cast of a Michelangelo statue and I guess that means something. Now I can say it was more meaningful to tattoo a rendition of it.
