Had moved January 2021 to 132 S 800 W SLC UT in the Sugar Space Arts Warehouse. HO and HOn3 Club. 100% NMRA and DCC. The club was founded in 1968 by 24 modelers from Salt Lake City & surrounding areas. The club was originally located at the Utah State Fairpark until 1984 when a change in management forced the club to search for a new venue. The club was then requested by the Children's Museum of U
tah to relocate to the basement of the Warm Springs Plunge building in 1984. But a 5.7 earthquake 3/18/2020 caused enough damage to warrant Salt Lake City Corp to declare the building temporarily unfit for any usage. The layout occupied a 20' by 50' space with a 4' viewing aisle around 2 outside walls. The design followed a "Mountain Railroad" theme representing the major railroads in Utah and surrounding areas. Portions of the layout highlighted UPRR in Weber and Echo Canyons, D&RGW in Soldier Summit and American Fork Canyon, and SP in Donner Pass. The railroad boasted 27 scale miles of mainline, with an additional 16 scale miles devoted to Narrow Gauge. The layout also sported a replica of UP's Ogden round house, 500+ car yard, engine and car repair facilities, Passenger Station and Yard, Intermodal yard etc. For a 2017 video of Hostlers Club members running on that layout, see https://youtu.be/U-cQt_gRHlo
