Week 6 of our residency at the Alliance Theater - Utah Arts Alliance (Utah Arts Alliance) was met with sold out shows and a wonderful mix of performers and crowds! It has been so humbling to see such strong support for these artists and the art of improv. Thank you immensely to everyone helping to fill these weekends with laughter and energy. Hard to believe there are only two weeks left! We'll see you on Thursday for more great comedy!

One key difference between improv and scripted theater is the lack of costumes, scenery, and props. This allows performers to be anyone, anywhere, and interact with anything. Using deliberate object work to create a vivid stage picture enhances the experience for both the audience and fellow performers. In this workshop for advanced improvisers, join instructor Chris Pasko for a focused journey on integrating objects into scenes and making the invisible visible without drawing attention away from dialogue and relationships. Held at the Alliance Theater - Utah Arts Alliance on Oct 24 from 10 AM to 1 PM, you'll get 3 hours of guided exercises for just $20. Sign up today while spots are still available! For the month of October, we're pleased to announce that we'll be raising funds and awareness for Utah Rivers Council.

Mission: "The Utah Rivers Council is a grassroots organization dedicated to the conservation and stewardship of Utah’s rivers and sustainable clean water sources for Utah’s people and wildlife. Founded in 1994, we work to protect Utah’s rivers and clean water sources for today’s citizens, future generations and healthy, sustainable natural ecosystems. We implement our mission through grassroots organizing, direct advocacy, research, education, community leadership and litigation."

We hope you'll join us in supporting this excellent cause so dear to our Salt Lake County community! Thank you, Utah Rivers Council, for all the great work you do!

While we've been hard at work building improv community here in Salt Lake County, we've also been busy making new connections all around the world. Today, we're pleased to announce our partnership with our new sister theater, Improv Lisboa! They are a wonderful group of improvisers located in Lisbon, Portugal spreading joy and laughter everywhere they go. One of our Improv Salt Lake members had a chance to visit them this summer and made instant friends. Next time you're in Portugal, check them out, their shows and open workshops are all conducted in English. Thank you for welcoming us with open arms!

We've got a fun collection of shows this week at the Alliance Theater - Utah Arts Alliance (Utah Arts Alliance). We start off Thursday with some duo performances by Millennials on Parade and several more pairings during the Basketcase semi-final and finale (see the bracket image for the breakdown)! Then on Friday we have a wonderful, fully ASL show with English interpreters produced by All Hands, Sorta Planned that will be held on the main stage and will be raising funds for Utah Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (UTRID) and the Sego Lily Center--please come out and support this amazing cause! Then we'll be rounding out the week with another visit from the hilarious JoKyR and Jesster, and finally, we've got some comedy sketch by Unleaded 85 and some audience interactive laughter courtesy of Dinner Time at Big Brutus Pizza Company (pizza may or may not be included). So many cool things happening! Don't miss it!

Lot of wonderful shows last week! Played a lot of silly games on Tuesday at the Murray Theater, then on Thursday we had three killer performances by Improv Ave, Water Bear Tamers, and Basketcase. Friday was a night of musical delight with Cacophony's musical improv, then Saturday closed out the week with an excellent Dungeons of Misrule and a fabulous Drag-Prov with Famke. Once again, we are extremely grateful for our performers and the energy they fill the room with during their sets, and we are so thankful for every audience member who continues to support the community!

We'll see you next week on Thursday to kick off week 6. Come see a show, the residency will be over before we know it!
