🎶 A Utah Legacy in Music and Steinway Pianos 🎶
After 164 years, Daynes Music is closing its doors.
For generations of Utah families, this was more than a music store. It was a place where parents purchased a child’s first piano, where students began their musical journey, where famous musicians from around the world came, and where music became part of the fabric of a home.
Since 1862, Daynes Music has been part of Utah’s cultural story. Think about that for a moment. It has existed through the building of this state, through wars, through economic ups and downs, and through the lives of countless families who believed that music mattered.
Organizations, like the Choral Arts Society of Utah, stand on the shoulders of that same musical tradition. Choir members, students, teachers, and performers across Utah have all been shaped by a culture that values music education and the arts. Many of the voices that sing on our stage first discovered music sitting at a piano bench, practicing scales, or learning harmony in their own living rooms.
Utah has long been known as a state where music thrives. From school choirs and community ensembles to concert halls and community stages, music continues to unite us. Businesses like Daynes Music helped make that possible for generations by placing instruments into the hands of aspiring musicians.
While a storefront may close, the impact does not end. Every piano lesson, every choir rehearsal, every child who discovers their voice continues that legacy.
As we look forward to future performances and celebrations of music across Utah, we feel gratitude for those who helped build this foundation. The music lives on in every voice raised in song.
THANK YOU to the generations of Daynes family and to Daynes Music who kept music alive in Utah. Your amazing legacy and contributions to Utah and the Choral Arts Society of Utah are remarkable and unforgettable.
We wish you and your family all the best. 🎵
