I love nights like this because the excitement doesn’t end when the match does. It just changes.

The jerseys stay on.
The voices get louder.
The stage fills up.
And for the rest of the night, anybody who grabs that mic gets their chance to feel like the headliner.

Tonight, I’m thinking about one of my favorite things about this show:

Watching people surprise themselves.

The person who swore they weren’t going to sing.
The person who’s convinced they’re “not good enough.”
The person who only planned to watch.

Then somehow they end up on stage.

And by the end of the song, they’re smiling ear to ear because an entire room just cheered for them.

That’s the magic.

Not karaoke.

People realizing they’re capable of more than they thought.

🎤 TWO YEARS.

Two years ago tonight, I stepped into that karaoke booth for the first time.

What I thought was going to be a karaoke show turned into one of the most meaningful things I’ve ever been a part of.

Over the last two years, I’ve watched strangers become friends. I’ve watched nervous singers find confidence. I’ve watched packed stages full of people screaming songs together so loudly the whole building felt like it was shaking.

I’ve watched people celebrate promotions, birthdays, engagements, breakups, victories, losses, and everything in between.

And every Thursday, this community keeps showing up.

Not because of me.

Because of what we’ve built together.

The Green Pig karaoke show has become a night-long concert where, on any given night, ANYBODY can be the headliner.

And for the last two years, I’ve had the privilege of having the best seat in the house.

Let’s celebrate tonight the same way we built this thing:

Together. Loudly. ❤️

Tonight’s the night.

100+ weeks of Thursday nights at The Green Pig and I still get genuinely excited for what’s about to happen.

Because I never know exactly what it’ll be.

I don’t know which song is going to make the whole room stop and sing together. I don’t know who’s going to walk in nervous and leave feeling like a completely different version of themselves. I don’t know which two strangers are going to become best friends over a four-minute song tonight.

But I know it’s going to happen.

It always does.

Karaoke at Green Pig on Thursday nights has this weird way of making EVERYBODY feel like a rockstar for a few minutes.

Doesn’t matter if you’ve been singing your whole life or you grabbed the mic on a random impulse after two drinks.

The second the crowd starts singing with you…
The second the whole room starts cheering after a big note…
The second complete strangers start hyping you up like you’re headlining an arena?

Something shifts.

You stop worrying about whether you sound perfect.
You stop overthinking.
You stop caring how you look.

And suddenly you’re just IN IT.

That’s why people keep coming back to this show.

Because for a few hours, a room full of strangers turns into one giant singalong where everybody gets their moment to feel seen, supported, loud, confident… alive.

And honestly? If you haven’t experienced it yet, you’re missing out.

There are moments during this show where I kinda just stop for a second and look around the room in disbelief.

A packed stage.
People screaming lyrics together.
Friends dragging each other onto the mic.
Complete strangers putting arms around each other during choruses like they’ve known each other forever.

And somehow… every week… it keeps happening again.

That’s the part I don’t think I’ll ever get over.

Not the crowd size.
Not the noise.
Not even the singing.

The CONNECTION.

Watching people walk in carrying stress, anxiety, heartbreak, awkwardness, loneliness… and then slowly watching all of that melt away over the course of the night because music gave everybody permission to let go for a little while.

That’s what I love about karaoke.

Not perfection.
Not performance.

People.

Real people.
Real emotions.
Real moments.

And honestly, being trusted to help create that space every Thursday night means more to me than I know how to put into words.

So let’s do it again tonight ❤️

In the immortal words of Marvin Berry: "This is for all you lovers out there"

Gonna do a little bit of compare and contrast. These videos were recorded, admittedly unintentionally, EXACTLY 6 years apart (May 7th 2020 and 2026, respectively)

This is what you can achieve when you put time and effort into practicing and honing your craft.

Listen to how much more even and smooth my vocals are in the second one. And that's while I'm still doing my job of mixing the audio and tuning the mixer so it sounds better for my patrons after I'm done singing

Also shout out to in the first video, and one of my new favoritist people in the world, my good friend in the second one!

100 straight weeks.

Man… I don’t even know how to fully process that yet.

Because when I look back on these last 100 Thursdays, I don’t think about numbers first.

I think about moments.

The packed stages.
The building shaking during giant singalongs.
The people who came in shy and now own that stage.
The random emotional conversations after songs.
The nights where a room full of strangers somehow felt like family.

That’s what this became.

And through all 100 weeks of it… I’ve had the privilege of standing in that booth helping people unleash their inner rockstars for a few hours every Thursday night.

That means more to me than I know how to explain.

Thank you for building this with me.
Seriously.

This is exactly the kind of energy I set out to build.

A song starts with one person.
Then a few more join in.
Then the whole stage fills up.

And suddenly it’s not a performance —
it’s a shared moment between a room full of people who are all in it together.

That’s my favorite part of these nights.
Not the songs. Not the mic.
The connection.

Grateful to be part of building something like that every week.
