How often do we try to divide life into categories — good or bad, light or dark, resolved or unresolved? But that isn’t how life feels, is it? Most of the time, it’s both. We carry sorrow and joy. We wrestle, and we rejoice. We hope, sometimes in the very moments we ache.

This concert leans fully into that human reality. Life is not clean. It is not neatly divided into light and shadow. It is tension — and yet, there is something radiant within it. That is the paradox.

Join us for a night of beautiful, intense, and radiant choral music.

“Lumina” is a concert about light—how it breaks into our lives quietly, grows steadily, and ultimately transforms us into bearers of hope for the world.

Light is not merely a symbol of the season. It is a call to action. This year, we are honored to donate a portion of our proceeds to Hildegarde’s Pantry, whose mission embodies the heart of this concert. Just as the nativity story lifts the lowly and feeds the hungry, we hope our music becomes more than sound—a gesture of compassion that reaches beyond these walls.

In a world that often feels shadowed by uncertainty, where many face hunger, hardship, and division, Amavi invites you to pause, breathe, and rediscover hope.

Through the serene glow of Christmas carols and the profound beauty of choral works both peaceful and powerful, Lumina leads us from darkness into light, from despair into compassion, from isolation into community.

Every note, every harmony, becomes a reminder: even the smallest light can lift the world.

Half of all proceeds from Lumina will be donated to a local food bank, helping illuminate lives within our own community through the simple, transformative act of giving.

What a beautiful season we’ve had. Join us tonight for Amavi’s 2025 Season Finale.

We began this season with Equinox, honoring the balance of light and dark. Then came Solstice, a journey through the longest night, where music became a source of hope.

Now we close with Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem, a luminous, peaceful work that invites us into stillness and reflection.

Amavi is more than a choir. We are a community of voices, brought together across beliefs and backgrounds, united by the power of music to heal, uplift, and connect.

We’re deeply grateful for every voice that sang with us this year, for those onstage and behind the scenes, and all generous donors who made this season possible.
