About the Play:

This is the World Premier of The Death of Nero. A play written in 1929 but never saw production due to the inherently homos*xual and anti authoritarian themes and messages.

The play is split into two realities, the contemporary real world of Pavel which exists in the year 1919 in Rome and a flashback to 1914 in Saratov. The other reality is Rome during Nero’s lifetime, however, that reality is never real.

We will be building what this play will look like as a creative team, with curiosity and playfulness.

Please note that we will be exploring all types of gender expression through Drag. The show has moments of intimacy such as kissing between Pavel and Marie, Sado-Masochist themes, implied violence towards a pregnant Pompae, and a simulated s*x scene between Nero and Servilius, no nudity. These scenes will be directed with an intimacy coordinator. Trigger warnings include violence toward a pregnant woman, infanticide, s*x, murder.

Script available upon request.
