I’m slowly getting some pieces photographed and listed on my website. I need to take picture of hanging planters and espresso cups next. I think I have a couple bowls too that need a photo shoot. The lighting in these photos is too warm and I should probably edit them but I feel like it would be easier to just redo them. They are good enough for now. I wish I could afford to pay someone to do this stuff for me.

Brought some cups home to paint. Gotta get these to the glaze shelf so they can be ready for the Art Fair Jackson Hole. Less than two weeks away! These are the last things I need to finish glazing. I’ve been thinking about this show for months and concerned about having enough inventory to bring. I think I’ll be good but still, it’s a lot to think about. This will be my second year trying out an out of state festival. I hope this one is more successful than the one I did in Bozeman last year.

I’ve been struggling with the will to continue on social media. I don’t want to be some kind of influencer. I just want to share my art with you all. I have been making things that I think are really cute but I don’t have the right recipe for the algorithm to get the things out to the people that actually follow me. I’m not a product photographer, I’m not video editor, I’m not a TV personality. I don’t want to be any of those things either. I’m a ceramicists. I’m a pottery teacher. I sell my pots at markets for some extra cash to make it easier to fund emergencies when they come up. For example, buying a new car. I don’t need to go viral, I just want the people that have chosen to follow me to see what I’m working on. Unfortunately, the way this beast works seams to thing that is too much to ask.
Anyways, I hand painted these. I think they are super cute and joyful. Would you use them for lotion or soap?

What’s in process? There are some straw cups and cortado cups are waiting for a bisque fire, I have planters and more cortado cups that I’ll be trimming tonight and starting on surface decoration, sgraffito mugs are glazed and ready for a glaze fire, some lotion/soap bottles are out of the bisque kiln and ready to be glazed. I have one random bowl and a few tea ball charms that I need to glaze as well. Can I get this all done before I drive up to Jackson Hole in mid August? I sure hope so. 😂 best wishes to me because I’m also teaching tonight and I promised a throwing demo.

I need to throw the rest of my obsidian clay. I should make some more big bowls. I don’t make a ton of bowls, I’m definitely more of a mug and cup maker.

How do my Book Holder Things™️ work? Well, the pointy end goes in the crease of the open book and your thumb goes in the hole. I have found they work best on feminist books so you should probably read more feminist books. Also, Howard loves story time, he is very literary.
These two I made as a commission. Do you need a Book Holder Thing™️? Then you should come to my next market at The Book Box Bookshop on August 1 from 10-3. Save the date.

What was the last book you read? I’ve been reading the physical Dungeon Crawler Carl books this year. I’m 35% through book 8, A Parade of Horribles. I’m currently listening to The Genius Of Birds by Jennifer Ackerman. I listen to audiobooks while I work but I prefer physical books when I read at home. The Dungeon Crawler Carl books just get thicker and thicker as the series goes on. A thick book can be tiring to hold so I made these Book Holder Things™️ to help people put less pressure on their hands while they read their favorite thick books.
In two weeks, I’m going to be at The Book Box Bookshop for their Small Business Saturday series of markets. I will be bringing these with me, obvs. There will be plenty of books there for me to give you a demonstration on how they work. See you then!
